We’re following the same family-friendly formula as past years: an all-reaching just-for-fun and not-too-serious race, starting and finishing near the entrance to Clipper Cove, followed by a raft-up in Clipper Cove with a potluck meal afterwards. We will recognize best dish and best drink at the raft-up, the boat with most kids on board, and the winner of the easy reaching race.
Not really into racing? Not a problem – just join us for the raft-up in Clipper Cove afterwards. It will be a great opportunity to meet other mulitfhull families. Curious about the racing, but you don’t have a current ratings certificate? Not a problem – just sign up and we’ll assign a rating for you. The racing part isn’t too serious – this event is just about coming out and having some fun on our boats.
So bring the kids, bring something good to eat and drink at the raft-up, and come on out!
The event is FREE! And I mean free for EVERYONE – even non-BAMA members, so please tell your multihull-sailing friends. Know somebody with a cruising cat at your marina? Invite them! Know one of the many people with trimarans at Alameda Marina? (or anywhere else) Invite them! We want as many boats and people to come out as possible! It’s a great opportunity to meet other multihull sailors. Families with kids are highly encouraged to participate.
This year, we’re also going to do an Ian Farrier celebration to mark the passing of the legendary designer of the “F-boats”.
To race, you must pre-register and fill out the waiver. See the notice of race here
